It’s the eclipse time

It’s time to re-read this old but surprisingly useful cyberpunk trilogy by John Shirley, A Song Called Youth! You’ll find all the recent news in it (my review, in Russian), from (artificial) pandemics, private military company behind the scenes of local conflicts, and alt-right marching forward — to Russia and NATO teetering on the edge of non-conventional war. (Don’t believe a summary from Amazon on the page linked, his version of WWIII, like our own, hasn’t yet gone nuclear.) For what seems a very long vigil for the global world, feel free to consult Shirley at least twice monthly, or even twice weekly.

Interestingly enough, in the first edition of the books WWIII was placed somewhen around 2020, not 2039. It’s better in many ways, but hard to reach upon.

Meanwhile and more importantly, for the first time in U.S. history two openly LGBTQ+ candidates face off in congressional race!
