You probably speak about Holodomor. Indeed, it was a heavy crime, albeit not against Ukrainians exclusively, but against the whole strata of farmers and peasants, whom Stalinism attempted to bend and subjugate according to project of overclocked industrialization. In Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan et al. there were also numerous incidents of induced hunger and terror against even moderately wealthy farmlanders and farmworkers, amplified due to climate calamities in mid-1930s. Ukrainians shouldn’t, so to speak, transfer these events under their private ownership.
