I would prefer our space early detection system be better than that of dinosaurs. As shown in experiment with Didymos and Dimorphos, successful correction of asteroid orbits may turn out less time- and work-consuming than we do a priori expect. And only nuclear weapons now possess sufficient capability for correction of such an orbit in case of asteroid flying on collision course.
