Weaker than unexpected
This just in: LG disclosed its smartphone business operating loss of almost USD 120 mln “due to weaker than expected premium smartphone sales and increase in component costs.” Honestly, who could have expected that brushing away the one and only distinctive feature of LG mobile devices among legion of Android design clones, namely removable battery, would turn out so lackluster? Though maybe bootloop saga will see its end; no signs of that blight came so far on G6.
At the same time Lenovorola, yet another Android vendor struggling for profits, continues to push mods, which also debuted in LG devices and were subsequently dropped. Mods give no excuse for slashing battery capacity, but at least they add something truly unique and moderately useful.
