Ukraine's main, persistent problem is its everlasting corruption.
Breakdown of the state that we could observe there in slow motion has one very clear reason, besides Russian invasion: utilizing Mancur Olson's terminology, one may say that Ukrainian "roving bandits" never managed to transcend themselves and evolve into "stationary bandits". And even in the midst of such destruction they continue to spoil "trophies" of war, stealing like there’s no tomorrow, sending even more of their serfs unto Flanders Fields near Avdeevka or Rabotino, because only as long as war drags on they're now able to supplement themselves.
The war burns out, they disappear, dying of hunger along with societal organism they parasitize in.
