This is not how it works. First of all, initially the war has shown strong tendency to quick fading toward peace talks, and it could end as early as in spring 2022, if not for BJohnson and Dem Party warmonger wing's meticulous work that has led to new flameout. Secondly, long-term contracts, in general, die hard; severe recession in Germany is among the best examples of dire consequences. It's only natural that Austria, Slovakia, or Hungary don't want similar tribulations for themselves. After all, Ukraine keeps transporting gas through occupied part of Kursk region in Russia. Isn't it a delicious argument for treating this war as a strictly regulated, flowery one?
