This is not entirely a new concept, of course. To wit, Zloshchastiev tried recently to unify dark matter with dark energy by means of the scale-dependent gravity in superfluid vacuum theory.

He recovers Lorentz symmetry in the “phononic” low-momentum limit of the theory, while four-dimensional spacetime is simply an induced phenomenon, determined by the dynamics of quantum Bose liquid moving in Euclidean 3D space.
