Since the (super)string theory sank into the landscape, such remark seems more appropriate for physics college she-cheerleader than for scientist consciously opting out of plodded tracks.

Now in 2019 EmDrive concept should’ve been already disproven to ashes, yet continues to spawn DARPA projects and (properly dubious) patents. That’s not as bad as, e.g., sticking to one and only patently true QM interpretation could be a century earlier. In the end, when it rains it falls, and with advent of relatively cheap commercial space travel EmDrive effects could be tested against conditions more rigor than everything down here in the gravity well.
