Russian military history is vast, it has seen a lot of masterfully crafted, brilliantly implemented strategic plans. Even their current defense in Zaporozhye region should count as one of the best examples since Flanders Fields. Hence meatgrinder offensive mode looks increasingly like a product of very conscious choice for both sides of this flower war. They have painted themselves into a corner of the corridor without a doorway.

Both Russia and Ukraine, as NATO proxy slave, are interested in prolonged war without clear time limits, so that corrupt and inept governments could prolong their immunity from any changes, responsibility, or good old revolt (mistake not for Maidan farce coup). Who will lose in any scenario? Male population seen as a fresh fodder, of course.
