Reasonable policy, for only through an alliance between Russia and Germany, now severed for the third time in a century, EU could have ascended to political self-sustainability. Alas, the sheer size of contribution of cheap Russian energy resources to German economic success was tragically overlooked. Now Germany must pay the price for its blunders fossilized during the infamous Eastern Partnership programme, and failure to properly implement Minsk agreements.

Core conflict of the modern proxy WWIII is unfolding not between Russia and NATO, but inside NATO, as the US and the UK seek to displace the EU into the gutter of history and to divide the spoils.
