People of Tigray, Congo, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Lebanon, Iraq, or Syria also didn’t want such an outcome, but it happened all the same. Please, don’t draw Ukrainian case as something totally unheard of in recent history. The most close analogue is not even WWII (Godwin’s law should be renamed in dubious honor of Putin, tee-hee), but the conflict between Iran and Iraq in 1980s, with some Vietnam flashbacks in the mix.
