Oh, there are still places nowadays on Earth where such a choice is perfectly urgent and relevant. In fact, outside of the First World echo chamber it becomes evident that conscription along with all dubious charms thereof continues to be the norm, not an exception. Grim examples like Syria, Ukraine, or Eritrea, when war service for males may be often extended indefinitely, come to mind.

I recall that only Norway, Denmark and possibly Israel show clear and consistent implementation of sex equality in military; plain simple that’s how it must be.
