Indeed, but I consider current levels of intrasocietal polarization highest since at least Gilded Age, if not the Civil War. Additionally, unlike Cold War 1.0, the US are now facing both apexes of Kissinger's triangle. Economical and cultural centres of the world migrate back to Asia steadily, in the wake of engineering expertise displacement from the Rust Belt. Now EU also (with moronic enthusiasm) creates its own Rust Belt on Rhine, but that's another matter.
