I judge from the point I tend to keep: the state that made all bets on war with no end, no realistic goal in sight, couldn't and shouldn't be viewed as a desirable place for its male citizens. Ukrainian border crossing ban for all males aged 18 to 60, healthy and sickly alike, created the Prohibition-like underground business. I heard from different sources that folks sometimes pay up to 10K € to get out of there, even if they had had valid reasons for leaving before the war and during the initial months of the conflict. One random example of monstrosities it spawned:

It seems to have been brought in effect under taciturn agreement with the Rammstein coalition countries of the EU.
Thus, I abstain from support of his actions aimed on returning Ukrainian male citizens inside the country they would be further locked in and possibly killed after press gang-style draft that Ukrainian authorities eagerly practice. Whereas Russia generally allows free border crossing for its citizens and Ukrainian refugees.
Hence, I would have supported him only in part concerning his help in return of women and children, and generally because of the nature of his activity as sidetracking Putin's policies. For males he probably had been doing more evil than good.
