I have some private connections there that made me inclined to treat Kazakhstan protests as a failed transition followed by effective ergodicity breaking phase transition, speaking in terms of dynamical systems/chaos theory. In other words, not one, but two mingled transitions were interlacing each other. It would have been an interesting immediate case for studies in cliodynamics and collapsology, had not subsequent invasion in Ukraine eclipsed it fully.
