I find symbolic that Tocharian languages, now long-dead Indo-European tongues formerly spoken in the Tarim Basin, on the main thread of the Silk Road, provide a disproving argument to the centum-satem debate about strong division between Eastern and Western languages in the Indo-European area.
Actually, they had had more in common with ferne halwes, kowthe in sondry londes, that is, with Old Irish, Brittonic, or Classical Greek, than with their neighbours.
