Very likely I’m not the only one who noted that TouchBar had been implemented first in nefarious Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon from a few iterations ago. Its trackpoint, as ever, had been leaving more freedom of interaction with UI than touchpad or any sensor touch interface, and thus smoothing possible transitional hiccups, but TouchBar flopped all the same, and not with a whisper, but a bang. Lenovo has been forced to redesign Carbon keyboard completely and returned to more conservative, legacy-style layout. They were so ashamed that even took noteworthy courage to restart with physical trackpad buttons.
