Well, the Long 20th century is formally over: centagenarians quit the Night Watch.

Since the fruition times of Henry Kissinger, the last of great Cold War chessmasters and pawnmakers, the expertise of European and American diplomatic structures eroded harshly after all rounds of EU enlargement, intermingled with bouts of ‘muscular progressivism’.

Before Ukrainian mishmash, in 2013, EU consolidated economy stood at ca. 90% of the US. Now, in 2023, it hardly reaches above 75%. Zeitenwende anyone?

However, European bureaucrats aren’t concerned with such a bleak dynamics in the slightest. It’s only natural, in absence of any clear criteria of responsibility for these calamities. They promised quick collapse of Russian economy, subsequent political and social turbulence, aiming at rich spoils of war that would have been divided between victors. They achieved said turbulence and gross economic ails, albeit at home. They should end in Disneyland or in Arkham Asylum, depends upon which train arrives earlier.

Now they look questioningly at demented Uncle Biden, who answers: Capitol doesn’t pay traitors for supporting Ukraine war as long as it takes.

By the way, incoming Venezuelan poll about invasion to Guyana might provide some spectacular festive fireworks on the side of the pond much closer to Beltway Hillbillies.
