As Samantha Josephson’s case clearly shows, hostility towards public transport in the US can lead to moribund experience. Just imagine how infinutely better her chances to survive and thrive well would have been, had she used officially registered taxi that could be trusted enough to make long journey, while more expensive. Or she could even, gusp, ride a passenger train.

Freaking overdependence on cars and planes make average Joes and Janes dull boys and girls. Till somebody meddles with their toys.
